Our First Trip to See Santa

We are gearing up for a busy Christmas week! After going to church with my grandparents, Russ and I took James up to the beach to meet Santa for the first time! James was WONDERFUL. He smiled at Santa and at anyone else who looked his way...such a flirt :) Although there was a ton of smiles leading up to picture taking...after we put James on Santa's lap, all he was interested in was eating the fur on Santa's coat :)

The Last couple of Weeks

Notice Russ' smile...it quickly faded as the game began. There's always next year.

"James, You can thank Ms. Caroline for this..."

Mixing beats already :)
The only reason I get two minutes of peace a day...Thank you Baby Einstein!!

My new Toy

A little overwhelmed at first....it was past nap time :(

...but by bedtime I had to drag him out of it!

About to eat breakfast

Very excited about food!

"Uh oh Mom, there might be a problem..."

"Uggghhh...when is the next vacation???"

This week....

I have no idea where he gets it from....

This is what happens when Daddy is in charge :)

Two More Firsts!

After an okay from the pediatrician, we decided to give rice cereal a try. Here's how it went :)

Here we go....

Concentrating hard!

Wait a minute!

Mommy tricked me :(
Although the initial reaction wasn't great, after a few minutes we tried the rice cereal in a bottle and he LOVED it! Now he gets mad if there isn't any in the bottle. Still no luck on the spoon...he is still a little young.

We also started brushing his teeth (or lack there of) :) this week. More to give him some relief with the teething than anything. He enjoys every second of it and trys to grab the brush when I take it away :)

Happy Halloween

James' first Halloween was wonderful! After a quick visit to the doctor this morning for a little scare, James had a clean bill of health and we were off to Trick or Treat on Front Street in Georgetown. My sister Alex had a dance performance before the trick or treating began and after enjoying seeing Mom, Alex, and Mimi (my grandmother) we went to visit my aunt and uncle. Overall it was fantastic and so much more fun than either Russ or I have had at any Halloween I can remember!

The Pumpkin Patch

Today was our first family visit to the pumpkin patch! Russ and I took James down to the pumpkin patch at Boone Hall Plantation in Mt. Pleasant. Although they had lots of fun and festivities, James was a little too young for most of it :) We all enjoyed being outside in the beautiful weather and picking out James' first pumpkin....it's definitely going to be a family tradition and something we all look forward to every year.

Happy October!

James has been so funny this week...He is constantly chewing on his fingers (or mine:) ) and is talking up a storm! From the moment he wakes up he coos at Russ and I and keeps us in stitches laughing...another new trick this week is blowing raspberries (incredibly cute!). We are gearing up for a visit to the pumpkin patch in Summerville this weekend by trying on his overalls. I will update the blog with all the cute pictures from our visit!

Watching Baby Einstein Movie in his Bumbo seat.

He loves chewing on his busy bee :)

I'm sure he will thank aunt Heather for this one day :)

Its October! James is 12 weeks old!

I thought I would post a few pics of our first cool Sunday stroll. This weekend the temps in Georgetown only got up into the high 60's so we enjoyed a cool October weekend despite the USC loss on Saturday. It was also the weekend of the annual Wooden Boat Show. People come from all over the nation to show the boats that they built and to compete in the boat building competition. It is tons of fun for all but sadly only Russ made it down to the show this year. It was raining and along with the cool temps was too much for James and I. We spent the day visiting with aunts and grandmothers and had a blast...James kept everyone entertained with his smiles and his new trick...he has learned to put his hands in his mouth and is cooing all the time :)
